Science Tokyo Graduate School: Nanotechnology Course
Prof. NAKAJIMA Ken
Director of Nanotechnology Course, Science Tokyo – Tsinghua University joint graduate program
Nanotechnology is widely seen as one of the most important technologies to support future industries in Japan and the world. The creation of new industries will require experts who, in addition to understanding technical issues are ambitious, able to think outside the box, and comfortable working with people from various backgrounds. By bringing together China and Japan’s best and brightest for graduate-level education and research activities, the Science Tokyo – Tsinghua University Joint Graduate Program provides the best opportunity for students to gain new skills and expertise. Through their studies in Japan and China, program participants obtain direct experience with cutting-edge technologies, develop understanding of two societies and cultures, and hone communication skills in Chinese, Japanese and English. As a new breed of engineers and researchers, our alumni are already playing leading roles in industry and academia. We invite you to join them.

Assoc. prof. CHEN Dongyue
Director of Nanotechnology Course, Science Tokyo – Tsinghua University joint graduate program
With globalization, cross-cultural exchange in science and technology fields has gained importance as a means of support for economic activities. The Science Tokyo – Tsinghua University Joint Graduate Program was launched in this context to encourage exchanges in science and engineering fields. Not only does the program enable young graduate students to study abroad at the top sci-tech university in China or Japan and receive research supervision from faculty members at both universities, it also broadens students’ perspectives on the world, heightens their cross-cultural competencies, and develops their international competitiveness. In doing so, the program fosters talented leaders in the fields of science and technology who will contribute to the industrial and economic development of China and Japan. By engaging in stimulating exchanges of opinion in a spirit of rivalry, students will generate new ideas in nanotechnology and other high-technology fields.
